Jenny made her mind up when she was three

It's my birthday! I was born three years ago when this redhead became intrigued in a blog by her friend Devon was writing. Lynette (my author) decided to "give it a go" and thus was I born.

She has made me amusing. Boring. Depressing. Joyful. Excited. Sad. Mad. And she has allowed me to pretty much replace her regular journals (for she had more than one). Not bad for a three year old.

I look to the future. I see shows, grad school, teaching, friends, frustrations . . . all within the next year. As Bette Davis claimed in All About Eve, "Fasten your seatbelts; it's going to be a bumpy night."

Oh, and Lynette also wanted me to throw a congratulations to her cousin Shane and his wife Toni. As of today, they are parents of Dannon Kedrick Destiny Smith. A boy has really got to live up to a name like that!!!

The title comes from a song called "The Saga of Jenny" which Julie Andrews sang in the film Star! The song is older than that, but poor Lynette is not near her resource which would tell her the title of the show (though it's from the first half of the 20th Century) it was originally from. She used it because the word "three" is used in reference to an age.

Dear old Shiz . . .

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! I got accepted into the grad program I wanted and I begin this summer!!!!!! Actually, seeing as it's an online one through NNU (Masters of Reading Endorsement), I was not overly worried, but still.

It's nice that my life seems to have a purpose/goal again. I've missed that.

And I got an invitation to Kara Lyon's wedding. I'm hoping to go, but it's the day after Kristen's (which I'm in) and two days before I have to give the first of two day's worth of finals. :( Why does everyone get married the FIRST weekend in June? Well, I'm looking regardless!!!

I have a new cell phone. And though you may laugh, the ringtone is my happy song: "I Think I Love You" as sung by David Cassidy and the cast of the Partridge Family. I understand that it is completely absurd, but it's one of those songs that no matter how I feel, I feel happier after listening to it. So I will proudly let that retro ringtone play for all to hear!

The title of this post comes from the alma mater song from Wicked. It seemed appropriate.

I got to Kansas City . . .

Okay, technically I'll be there tomorrow. Not a problem. The title just states what I will be doing.

Yes, tomorrow my folks and I are driving to Sacramento to catch a Frontier airplane to Denver. From Denver, we will head to Kansas City. We will be seeing my sister and her family. We will also be seeing my best friend from La Junta High School, Kinna! She works with elephants at the Wichita Zoo, so we'll be visiting there! I'm a tad on the stoked side.

So, that's really all. The title comes from "Kansas City" from Oklahoma.
